IT for small offices

Stop being your office’s IT person.

For offices of 3 to 15 people. Too small for the big IT firms, and too busy to keep doing it yourself.

$150 a month for the office, plus $170 a person.

Five people is $1,000 a month. Ten is $1,850. A person is anyone who uses a work computer or work email, and a server counts as two.

  • Help when something breaks, by text, phone or email, and on site when it needs hands, with no hourly charges
  • Updates and security on every work computer, with two-step sign-in and a password manager the business owns
  • Backups that are tested: one real file restored every month
  • New hires ready on day one, and access shut off the day someone leaves
  • The internet company, the printer company, Microsoft or Google, handled
  • Your written security plan kept current, and the cyber insurance questionnaire answered with you each year
  • A one-page report every month and a review every quarter

Keeping what you have working is included. Adding something new is quoted. No setup fee, month to month, with 30 days’ notice. You own every account, and you can switch our access off any time.

Start with a free 30-minute walk-through

Before the visit, we check what anyone can see from outside: whether your email can be faked, and when your domain and certificate expire. At your office, you log in and show us. You keep every password. Within two days you get a short list of the top risks, a flat price for each fix, and your exact monthly price.

Book a walk-through

Not on the plan? A remote fix is $150. A visit is $450, up to about two hours on site, drive included.

The fine print: billed for at least 3 people. Evenings and weekends are $300 remote or $600 on site, first two hours. The security setup included when you join ($750 plus $150 a person) is billed only if you leave in the first year: in full in the first 6 months, then a sixth less each month, nothing after 12. Not included: personal and home devices, hardware and licenses, anything already broken or out of support when we start (a flat price first), and ransomware recovery (an immediate response, then a flat price).

Tax and accounting offices, this fall

Ready for tax season.

$750 plus $150 a person, once.

Three people is $1,200. Five is $1,500. Say yes by December 1 and it’s done by December 15.

  • Two-step sign-in on email, tax software and cloud storage
  • Encryption on every computer
  • Backups set up, and one restore tested in front of you
  • A password manager the business owns
  • Your written information security plan, built with you from the IRS template (Publication 5708)
  • A one-page rule for what staff can paste into chatbots
  • A 20-minute session for your staff

Join the office plan by June 30 and the package price comes off your first months. You adopt and sign your own plan; we don’t give legal advice. Licenses and hardware are bought in your name.

How it works

  1. Call or text

Say what’s going on, or just send a photo of the screen.

  2. Get a flat price

Before any work starts. Plenty gets fixed remotely the same day, and the rest gets a house call.

  3. Pay when it works

If it can’t be fixed, there’s no charge.

Example

This popped up on my mom’s laptop. Should she call that number?

2:19 PM

Don’t call it. That’s a scam page, and nothing is actually locked.

Have her hold the power button until the laptop turns off, then turn it back on. If it offers to restore pages, say no.

It’s gone. Thank you!!

Anytime. If she ever does call one of those numbers, text me right away.

Who picks up

I’m Shane Furtado. I live in Aptos and spent ten years doing hands-on IT for two Santa Cruz County manufacturers.

Now I do it for homes and small offices around here. You get plain English, a fair price, and a short note afterward on what was wrong and what got fixed.
